Andrew Campbell-Tiech QC appointed new Head of Chambers
Andrew Campbell-Tiech QC has been appointed head of chambers succeeding Michael Gledhill QC's highly successful leadership over the past 5 years. Chambers warmly congratulates Michael Gledhill QC upon his appointment as a circuit judge based at Southwark Crown Court, with effect from April 16, 2008.

House of Lords hears major confiscation appeal
The appeal to the House of Lords in R v May and others was heard over three days. It is expected to become the leading case on the determination and apportionment of benefit in confiscation proceedings. The house will give its decision in a few weeks time.

Operation Trident: acquittal for murder at the Old Bailey
R v Nelson (Operation Carterville) Andrew Campbell-Tiech QC and Gavin Irwin secured the acquittal of Nicholas Nelson for murder at the Central Criminal Court. Mr Nelson was alleged to have lured his best friend to a party for him to be shot in the culmination of the series of shootings and reprisals which spawned Operation Trident.

Operation Houdini aquittals spark police corruption investigation
R v Matthews and others (Operation Houdini) Peter Caldwell, Michael Magarian and John McNally secured acquittals for their clients on allegations of handling diamonds and vintage wine valued in excess of £2 million. Following the acquittals a senior police officer was suspended from duty pending an investigation into the suppression of evidence.
